Tahoe SAFE Alliance and Project MANA are collaborating for a fifth year-in-a-row to bring you the Chocolate, Wine & Roses Festival 25th Anniversary Silver Soiree. This important fundraiser raises money for two non-profits that help keep Tahoe safe, healthy and fed. This fundraiser sold out last year so get your tickets early. Tickets are $85 in advance and $95 at the door.

The first Chocolate Festival took place in 1988 and included a handful of restaurants and wineries. Over the years, the festival has grown to be a community favorite and now features many top chef’s in North Lake Tahoe and Truckee competing for prizes including Most Decadent, Most Original Taste, Creative Use of Ingredient, Best Tabletop Presentation and the coveted People’s Choice. This year, the Festival will feature all three major North Lake Tahoe Resorts including past participant’s Hyatt Regency and The Ritz-Carlton. New this year is The Resort at Squaw Creek and we expect the creativity between all of our Chocolatiers to go up a notch.

Money raised from this year’s festival will support vital programs in your community including:

  • 24-hour crisis line
  • Mt. Rose Safe House
  • Support services for victims of intimate partner/domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse
  • Violence prevention and education to local schools and businesses
  • Community food distribution
  • Nutrition education

    In July of 1989, Ward and Alice Munson formed the Munson Family Foundation so they could share the rewards of their years of hard work building successful businesses with less fortunate people. The Foundation offers grants to qualifying charities throughout the United States in the areas of health, education and welfare. The Munson’s loved the Tahoe area and had a second home in Tahoe City for many years. They always attributed their success in life and business to the fact they “partnered with God” in all things. The Munson’s daughter, Tahoe City resident, Colleen Munson Kelly, now manages the Foundation and enjoys collaborating with local agencies and organizations to help make Tahoe an even better place to call home. It is a pleasure to offer a matching grant this year in the amount of $20,000 to be shared by Tahoe Safe Alliance and Project MANA.

    For 25 years, the Chocolate, Wine & Roses Festival has delighted North Lake Tahoe and Truckee with culinary genius and is considered one of the most important fundraisers in the community. We are excited to bring our supporters together on November 2nd for a Silver Soiree to mark this momentous occasion. The Hyatt Regency Grand Ballroom will be transformed into a twinkling silver wonderland and we invite you to come and share in this important celebration.
